Purpose
To support the ethical adoption of Risk Outside The Home (ROTH) child protection pathways, we host several communities of practice (CoP). Each ROTH CoP is made up of local authorities who are at a similar stage of implementing their ROTH child protection pathways, as a structure to coordinate response to young people at risk of significant harm that is outside their families/ homes. Each ROTH CoP provides a space for peer support between local authorities that are testing and embedding ROTH child protection pathways, as well as to receive updates and support from the GCCS. We currently run three ROTH CoPs:
- For established sites who have embedded a ROTH child protection pathway
- For 'set-up' sites in the process of developing or piloting their ROTH child protection pathways
- For practitioners who chair ROTH child protection meetings
We have a dedicated Microsoft Teams space, overseen by the GCCS team, where members can share learnings, ask questions and receive updates on the network.
Meeting arrangements
Online, for an hour and a half, four times a year
How to join:
The ROTH CoPs are currently closed to new members, but we will be reopening membership interest via our Local Area Interest Network (LAIN). If you are already a member of the LAIN and are interested in your local authority being part of a ROTH CoP when it is reopened to new members, please email: GCCS.ROTH@durham.ac.uk
