Last updated: Mon 07, 2018

Interested in being one of three sites to receive support to apply Contextual Safeguarding?

To be considered for this project local authorities need to apply with sign-up from a range of local partners. The deadline for the expression of interest stage is the 18th September and all details – including the expression of interest form and an information sheet about the project – can be found here.

Three areas will be selected to participate in the Contextual Safeguarding programme following an application process.

What is the Scale Up project?

Since its first publication in 2015, the theory of Contextual Safeguarding has been increasingly drawn upon to review and advance the approach taken to safeguarding adolescents in the UK and internationally. It has been used by a range of areas to tweak existing tools and interventions, and in 2017 the London Borough of Hackney embarked on a systems change process to fully embed the approach within their children and families service. Building on national interest in the model, the Big Lottery Fund is supporting the Contextual Safeguarding team to support three local authority areas in England and Wales to create Contextual Safeguarding systems – building on the lessons and resources that have emerged from Hackney.

The links below will take you to the English and Welsh project pages. These pages will feature all of the latest information about the project, including ways to get involved, resources produced during the project and project events. For further details please contact: carlene.firmin@beds.ac.uk.

Ers ei gyhoeddi am y tro cyntaf yn 2015, mae'r theori Diogelu Cyd-destunol wedi ei ddefnyddio'n gynyddol i adolygu ac i hyrwyddo'r dull o fynd ati i ddiogelu rhai yn eu glasoed yn y DU ac yn rhyngwladol. Mae wedi ei ddefnyddio gan amrediad o feysydd i fireinio'r dulliau ac ymyriadau sy'n bodoli ac, yn ystod 2017, cychwynnodd Bwrdeistref Hackney yn Llundain ar y broses o wir sefydlu'r dull hwn gyda'u gwasanaethau plant a theuluoedd.

Gan adeiladu ar y diddordeb yn y model, mae'r Gronfa'r Loteri Fawr yn cefnogi tîm y Diogelu Cyd-destunol i gynorthwyo tri awdurdod lleol yng Nghymru a Lloegr i greu systemau Diogelu Cyd-destunol – gan adeiladu ar y gwersi ac adnoddau ddaeth o'r profiadau yn Hackney. Bydd y dudalen hon yn darparu gwybodaeth fyw ar y broses uwchraddio ac unrhyw adnoddau a gynhyrchir dros gyfnod y rhaglen hon. Am ragor o wybodaeth, cysylltwch â: carlene.firmin@beds.ac.uk
